Externships

All Cats Healthcare Clinic is open for externships for 3rd and 4th year veterinary students for 2 or 4 week externships. We are also available for  veterinary shadowing days for 1st and 2nd year veterinary students. High school and undergraduate school technician shadowing is available on case by case basis. 

Extern candidates should be veterinary students in their third or fourth year of study at an AVMA
accredited university.

• Students should show a strong interest in feline medicine and surgery.
• Students should not be scared or
timid around cats.
• Students who are interested in general practice and want to shore up their feline
medicine and handling are ideal candidates for our externships.

Externship Preparation
1. Broad knowledge of feline friendly handling
2. Knowledge of common feline diseases i.e. kidney disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, stomatitis
etc.
3. Knowledge of AAF core feline preventative care recommendations.
Currently no housing is available for externs.
